Things to Do @ Your Library
Internet Policy
- Only use the Internet if your parent or guardian says it is OK. The Tulsa City-County Library provides a Parental Preference Option for Internet access.
- You must have a current library card to use the Internet. There is a daily time limit on computer use.
- Stop immediately if you see or read something on a Web site that upsets you and tell your parents, guardians or the librarian.
- Do not give out personal facts like your address, email or phone number to anyone unless you have permission from your parents or guardians.
- Do not put words, pictures or sounds on other people's Web sites without their permission.
- Do not break copyright rules by taking words, pictures or sounds from someone else's Web site without their permission.
- We strongly recommend that parents supervise their child's Internet sessions and let them know if there are materials they should not access. Parents should also advise their children of safety and security issues when using the Internet, and warn them against the disclosure of personal information when using email, chat rooms and other forms of direct electronic communications.
- The first five (5) pages printed on the Library computers are free; additional pages are 10 cents per page.
- If you do not follow these rules, you could lose your Internet privileges at the Library.
