Lions & tigers & bears, oh my! Look up in-depth information on the nature and habitat of familiar animals, insects, birds and fish. Each entry includes the kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus & species. EBSCO Database

Electric Library Elementary

This database contains reference books, journal articles, newspapers, photographs, maps, and radio & television news transcripts and is geared toward children in grades K-9. All articles are full text. Access this database via a link in the bottom right-hand corner of the Sirs Discoverer site.

Fast Facts

Great minds think alike; that's why so many TCCL customers ask certain questions again and again. This collection of frequently asked questions was created and is maintained by library staff. Primarily consisting of Tulsa and Oklahoma based facts it includes such facts as why Tulsa is sometimes called the 'Magic Empire,' the names of the seven dwarfs, Nobel Prize winners, and the history of Daylight Savings Time in Tulsa.

Kids Search

This is a fun and graphical interface of easy-to-use, graphically-appealing resources for kids in grades K-5. Search by topic or keyword for magazine articles, look up words in the dictionary, and search an encyclopedia. Timely Topic of the Month and highlighted top searches provide quick access to current news. Lexile reading levels are provided and Kids Search complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) which imposes restrictions on how websites collect information from children 13 and under. Sirs Discoverer Deluxe is an interactive reference database designed for elementary and middle school-aged children. The database consists of articles and graphics selected and cataloged by research staff from more than 1,400 magazines, newspapers, and government publications worldwide.
